NH Group first ventured into the field of restaurants in 1982, with the Golden Oryx, offering Oman’s first Asian fine dining experience. As a further expansion into the same field, the first Kamat restaurant was launched in 2001, a 100% Indian Vegetarian cuisine, followed by the Daawat chain a few years later. The main objective and motto for the group has been to provide high quality F&B while delivering value to its patrons. This portflio of restaurants is an important one for the group, with a vision to grow further.

An own home grown brand of Indian Mughlai cuisine, Daawat was a part of the group’s expansion plan in 2008. Taking a different approach, the first outlet was opened in Sohar, the port city of Oman, as a causal dining restaurant, followed by a food court concept, and the third outlet then opening in the capital city of Muscat in the form of a casual dining as well. The restaurant today offers Muhglai, Indo Chinese, Bengali, and Indian Street food on its menu.
